My name is Benny and I would like to thank you for taking the time to read
my introduction for a couple of minutes. I was born and raised in Germany,
but my heritage is from Hong Kong. I moved to Hong Kong for almost 2
years ago. It always amazes me that there are so many things to learn
from culture, lifestyle, food, tradition, and many other things I will discover
in Hong Kong. I'm a native German speaker and fluent in English. Although
my Cantonese is very choppy I'm progressing daily to keep up a basic
conversation with people.
I studied Hospitality Management for 8 years in the United States and
gained some valuable educational and work experience in the U.S.A.
Quickly, I realized that Hospitality is not the right field for my career path.
I endeavor to work well with other people and treat clients and
colleagues both with genuine respect, and I believe my experience and
education have considerable overlap with the needs of teaching students
to build up confidence in learning a new language. I've worked in a
language center institute in the past months, and I have to say that
teaching students is very challenging with no teaching experience and no
teaching educational background respectively. However, with my passion
and interest developing my own teaching style makes me level up my experience to become a better language
tutor.
My teaching style is based on conversation, pronunciation, visual, drawing, get the lesson more interesting, and
focus on the student's overall interest.

As a part time private tutor, I have been able to communicate with the
students and prepare the teaching materials according to their needs.
I am an observant person and can pay attention to students' weakness and strength in details, give them extra support and advice to
improve their academic and personal performance. In the meantime, I
do think that learning language should be fun and stress-free. Even
when students must learn the less interesting content such as grammar rules and pronunciation, I have managed to creatively develop
learning materials from reading stories of the students' choice, watching comedies and listening to radios with them to learn the daily and
interesting vocabularies, to playing interactive games. Nevertheless, I
can manage class order and discipline from my teaching experience
with 10 junior secondary school students and the experience of running workshops with two
other tutors for 20 senior secondary school students.
My exchange study experience in Germany and my personal engagement in language and cultural exchange have improved my understanding towards people with language barriers. Having worked with them and my previous tutees I understand the learning difficulties of various
types and can solve the problems with them, as I regularly share learning tips and make summary out of the learning materials on different topics (Cultural difference, Grammar, Phrases,
Writing samples).

My teaching style involves many games with grammar, vocabulary and
easy writing (depending on the child). With a five year experience in
Germany, and almost two years in Shenzhen (Mainland China) I can
guarantee the quality of teaching.
Children need to be motivated. That is best done by involving them in
fun activities and connecting their hobbies with learning. Furthermore a suitable environment is crucial to let them progress in learning.
The classes are tailored according to the clients' specific needs.
